Discovery Dream Homes is a family operated business designing and manufacturing Log and Timberframe custom Homes, founded by father and son team John and Ray King in 2003.

Located at the corner of Hwy 7 and 28, just east of Peterborough, this state of the art facility consist of a 2,200 sq ft on- site model home outfitted with a design and sales center available to assist clients, and a 10, 000 sq ft
factory fully equipped for manufacturing the Log and Timberframe homes.

The professional team at the design centre will sit down with each client to determine what their specific needs are. They then create a 3D model of the client’s home enabling the clients to virtually “Walk-thru” their home. When the design process is complete the client takes home 3D photo realistic renderings and floor plans enabling them to have a realistic perspective of their home before buying. All of the designer’s are building code certified and
complete all construction drawings and documents required to make the building permit process a breeze.

Discovery understands the importance of education and training in our field. DDH enrolls in educational programs that enable college co-op students to gain hands-on experience in Architectural home design and operating in a real work environment. DDH prides it self in keeping up to date with new sustainable building and manufacturing materials, and techniques.

While not only servicing the local community Discovery Dream Homes has expanded their dealer network to service the global environment, such as the United States, Europe, China, Australia and the United Kingdom.

Discovery is also proud to announce the opening of a second sales/design centre in the Bobcaygeon area, with a third sales/design center in the process of opening in the Barrie area spring of 2010.

Discovery’s community involvement has been ongoing. Some of the organizations that they have supported are: Boy Scouts of Canada, Cop’s for Kids, Community Care, MADD Canada, The Local School board, along with the sponsorship of local children’s sports teams.

Discovery has also participated in Peterborough’s Festival of Trees.

This company is a proud member in good standing in the following organizations: The Canada Green Building Council, Better Business Bureau, International Log Builders Association, Canadian Home Builders Association, Ontario Wood, and the Timber Framers Guild.
